Hidradenitis is a skin disease that is also known as Verneuil's disease. This condition causes abscesses and nodules to form in certain parts of the body, including those with apocrine glands such as the armpits, groins, buttocks and breasts. Hidradenitis is a chronic disease that usually ends with fistulation and suppuration in the affected area. The disease occurs as a result of a process of suppuration of the apocrine sweat gland and this damage can spread to the pilosebaceous follicle. In general, this phenomenon is accentuated by factors such as being overweight, smoking or simply poor personal hygiene.
Symptoms of Hidradenitis
Hidradenitis manifests itself in different ways, depending on the stage of the disease and the frequency of its onset, which can vary from once a month to once a year. The condition is mainly characterized by the appearance of nodules or abscesses in folds such as the groin and armpits. Advanced stages of hidradenitis, on the other hand, manifest themselves as suppurating and painful inflammatory cupboards that can sometimes be smelly. In addition, the patient may have difficulty moving their limbs in the case of acute hidradenitis due to the pain felt at the base of the limbs.
The
exceptional healing properties of Thuja occidentalis make it a particularly suitable remedy in the treatment of hidradenitis. Indeed, when used topically, this remedy effectively reduces the rashes characteristic of hidradenitis. Among the homeopathic remedies that can be used against hidradenitis is also Hepar sulfurus calcareum because the combination of extracts of oyster limestone and sulphur flowers is effective against the infections specific to hidradenitis. The recommended dosage is then one dose of Hepar sulfuris calcareum 30 CH per day for 4 days. In order to reduce the formation of pus during the inflammatory stage, Hepar sulfurus calcareum can be combined with Belladona 5 CH, at a rate of 5 granules every 2 hours for 2 days. To complete the treatment, it is also possible to take 2 doses of Pyrogenium 9 CH per day.
When to see a doctor?
If the symptoms of hidradenitis do not improve after 48 hours despite treatment, it is recommended to consult a doctor immediately. In addition, if the inflammation is accompanied by suppuration, the advice of a specialist is also advised. This action is more justified in cases of permanent discomfort or in the event of the patient's inability to move normally.
